Fear of Flying

This is one of the most common phobias during which our subconscious mind may create anxiety as it is trying to protect us and because flying is essentially an unnatural thing to do this is probably why around 20-40% of the population experience this anxiety whilst flying.
This fear may also be caused by other fears such as claustrophobia, fear of heights or agoraphobia and also misunderstandings of the principles of the plane and flight itself can also cause a fear.
Hypnotherapy can help by looking at the root cause of the fear and help re-evaluate thinking patterns and behaviour and by helping clients relax and maintain a calm, focused state of mind to control their fear.

Other symptoms may include:

 

  • Sweating
  • Dry mouth
  • Blurred vision
  • Racing heartbeat
  • Nausea
  • Running to the loo
  • Panic attack

 

Having a fear of flying can impact your life and interfere with holidays and business travel.

This fear may also be caused by many things, such as a bad experience or seeing other people scared.  You may suffer from fear of heights or panic attacks or may just have and may also have misunderstandings of the principles of the plane and flight itself which can cause a fear.

Many people have a fear of being out of control that they may lose control of their emotions during a flight and perhaps embarrass themselves on the plane.

Others may have a fear of turbulence or bad weather and
