You’re Probably asking yourself right now,
“Will hypnotherapy work for me?”
We only work with people we know we can help.
To further help you decide if hypnotherapy is the right fit for you, and you’re the right client for us, some more information has been included for you below that address the most common questions our clients have, as well as some helpful guides to explain how hypnotherapy can work for you.
Hypnotherapy is a type of therapy that uses hypnosis, which is a unique relaxed state of mind that involves bypassing the the critical conscious mind and access the subconscious mind (more details in next question), to help people change their thoughts, behaviours, or emotions.
During your hypnotherapy sessions, you will be guided into this relaxed state through various techniques, such as guided imagery, progressive muscle relaxation, and verbal suggestion. Once in this pleasant relaxed and focused state, further visualisation and suggestion can be made to your subconscious mind in order to help create positive changes in your thoughts and behaviours.
The conscious mind refers to your awareness and perception of the present moment and the thoughts, feelings, and sensations that you are aware of at any given time. It is the part of your mind that you are actively using to think, perceive, and make decisions.
The subconscious mind is a part of your mind that operates below the level of conscious awareness and is responsible for storing and processing information and memories, as well as for controlling automatic behaviours and functions such as digestion and respiration. The subconscious mind is not directly accessible to your conscious awareness, but it can influence your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
As part of your Initial Consultation, your therapist will go through a 2 minute process with you to ensure you can get into the correct altered staits required for hypnotherapy to be effective. This is completely safe and you will have your eyes open the entire time. You will only be invited onto one of our programmes if we genuinely believe we can help you.
It is a common joke that if hypnotherapists could actually take control of peoples minds then they would be the richest people on the planet. The truth is that no hypnotherapist can make you do something you don’t want to do. You’ll be completely aware the whole time and completely in control, you may just feel more relaxed than usual.
The sessions are conducted via zoom video call. This is a reliable website available on any computer, laptop or phone. We will be available 24/7 if you need any help to set this up.
Yes there is! We are the only therapeutic clinic in the south west that offers a guarantee.
During your Initial Consultation and first session, you and your therapist will cement your vision and agree on some metrics to measure your goals against. If by your fourth session, you have not seen a 50% progress in these metrics at any time, please inform your hypnotherapist no later than Session 4 and you will get a full refund. Please read our Terms & Conditions for more information.
Each hypnotherapy session is 55 Minutes long. However it is suggested to leave approximately 5 minutes either side of this.
At the end of working together, you will qualify for the free 12 month after care support package. This includes continued support from your hypnotherapist via email and 1 free 30 minute top-up session to be used at any time by you. There will also be an option to continue working together on a tailormade basis if there are new goals you want to achieve.
It’s highly unlikely that this is the first (or even the 10th) attempt at overcoming the current obstacle that’s holding you back from the life of mastery you’re pursuing.
Through our experience, we have recognised that most clients more often than not know what they “should” be doing. There are however many reasons why people may struggle to achieve their goals despite looking online, reading books, attending seminars, retreats, or seeing other therapists and coaches.
The most common reason is that they are held back by negative thought patterns, and beliefs that are rooted in their subconscious mind. What most therapuetic techniques and therapists seek to accomplish, is to identify all of these subconscious limiting beliefs and then attempt to change them consciously. This is an unsuccessful strategy for three reasons:
1. It can take years, if not a lifetime, to identify ALL of the subconscious limiting beliefs one has which stops them from progress.
2. Knowing “why” one thinks, acts, and feels the way they do doesn’t lead to natural change. In fact, it often makes someone feel worse because they’ve had to bring up negative aspects of the past (you won’t be digging up the past in your sessions with Scott).
3. Making a change at a conscious level has a low success rate because it requires someone to repeat an action that goes against their “current nature” for a long period of time.
For example, if someone consciously wants to achieve a healthier body, but subconsciously they have multiple beliefs about their capability of achieving this sustainably; Deciding consciously to go to the gym and eat healthier may be a huge struggle because they are having to consistently take actions everyday that goes against their current identity.
One of the reasons that Hypnotherapy can be effective is that it can help to bypass the critical, conscious mind, which can sometimes be a barrier to change. When a person is in a state of hypnosis, their conscious mind is less active, allowing suggestions to be made directly to the unconscious mind, which can then be acted upon. This can make it easier to change patterns of thought and behavior that are deeply ingrained or difficult to change through conscious effort alone.
Hypnotherapy can also be effective because it can help to relax the body and mind, which can reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. This can be especially helpful for people who have conditions such as chronic pain, IBS or other medical condition that might have psychological link.
We ensure that together, you have lazer focused clarity on where you currently are, where you want to go and every step of the way. Together, we will never pretend things are better than they are, but this also means that you’ll stop seeing things worse than they are too.
